We are one of the most misunderstood wonders and cultural experiences that would have outsiders dumbfounded at how wrong they were. Our products, our people, what we have to offer, it’s almost always glossed over because media outlets ignore or only report on negative things coming out of Detroit.

Due to popular demand, Faygo has added a sweet new flavor to its beverage lineup – Cotton Candy.
The latest flavor to hit store shelves is among 60 offered by Detroit’s 107-year-old iconic beverage maker, which says cotton candy was the most requested flavor in Faygo history.
DETROIT — Soda maker Faygo Beverages Inc. is introducing its newest flavor, Faygo Cotton Candy, with a contest for fans to win a bicycle from its promotion partner, Detroit Bikes.
“With a 107-year record of pop innovation, Faygo fans have come to expect new flavors that are bold and unique,” said Al Chittaro, executive vice president of Faygo Beverages, Detroit. “Cotton Candy was driven by consumers, as it was the most requested flavor in Faygo history. Beginning July 1, Faygo fans are being asked to photograph themselves having summer fun with Faygo Cotton Candy and upload their photos to Instagram with the hashtag, #FaygoCottonCandy.
Faygo said the top three Instagram photos generating the most “likes” by July 31 will win.
The winners will be announced on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and will receive a “Summer Fun Bonus” that includes Faygo Cotton Candy along with a bicycle from Detroit Bikes valued at $699 for first place; four tickets to Cedar Point for second place; and classes at a local aerial arts and/or circus school for third place.

The iconic Detroit pop company recently unveiled its new “Cotton Candy” on WDIV Detroit Channel 4.
Apparently, the latest addition has been an idea on the table for years, yet executives were waiting on the right time to release it. During an interview with Local 4, reporters took a swig of the new drink and immediately expressed their delight at “Cotton Candy”. Anchor Rhonda Walker said the new flavor isn’t too sweet but subtly tastes like the carnival treat.
A local brand, Faygo has been cherished by most Detroiters for its distinctly tasty drinks like “Red Pop” and “Rock & Rye”, to name a few. Whether a new spin on classics like “Cola” or “Orange” or something entirely unique, the pop company has become a local household name since it started in 1907.
Alas, residents have one new way to quench their thirst and cool down just in time for summer.
